That has to be the most nonsensical thing I’ve ever heard. God’s revelation in creation is sufficient for any person to know He exists. His special revelation through his scripture and the person of Jesus is how we can know him most fully until we are on the other side of this life. If you want to know WHY there is a God, try opening up a good Bible or asking Him in prayer. I don’t know the why, I know the “is”.

Word to the wise: No one will take you seriously if you say shit like 'in the word of God'. And calling someone else ignorant? Not everyone believes in God. You're pushing your beliefs on other people - that's an automatic dismissal of whatever potentially somewhat valid claim you had/have to make.

Telling me to stop pushing my beliefs on people is pushing your beliefs on me. Ever think about that? By your own logic, you have invited an automatic dismissal of your claims. Not to mention you did this anonymously. Coward. If you believe something strongly enough to reply like this, have the guts to accept the consequences publicly.

My belief is that God spoke to us through the scriptures. He tells us to speak the truth and to share the Gospel. If I don’t share the truth of the Gospel, I’m directly disobeying God. Some people may be comfortable with that, I’m not - even if I fail over and over. But that’s the gospel anyway. I can’t earn it so His grace covers me in a way my own self-righteousness cannot.

If you’re not into Jesus because some of his followers are hypocrites, let me tell you - we all are. And those of us who are serious about following him will admit it. It’s not about being perfect or some kind of moralism, it’s about our loving response to the God who became one of us and died for us when we didn’t deserve it. That perspective changes everything - it did for me. It can for you too if you change your way of thinking and put your faith in Jesus.

It should be a law for people to apply for licenses before they are allowed to have children.

There should be a law requiring ignorant people to apply for licenses before they’re allowed to have opinions. And another law requiring them to apply for another license before being able to voice said stupid opinions.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to take a look at the blog of someone who would write this. Knowing that Hitler took these ideas (eugenics) to their logical conclusions, I wondered about what worldview this person might hold to. What lies of the devil they are believing. I actually got a HCSB the other day, I quite like it. I agree that the MSG is jacked up, not as much as I initially thought it was (it puts some verses and concepts across nicely), but for the most part it's kinda stupid and really misconstrues so many language features and the meaning of the text. Definitely not a Bible to read for deep thought and study (I had someone try use it to argue a theological point once - amusingly wrong). I mostly use the ESV or the NASB, as I prefer a meatier read

I agree. Everyone is opinionated when it comes to Bible translations! I stick primarily with ESV and NASB and I have to say I favor the NASB in many ways but the ESV has many more resources to compliment it and my church is standardized on the ESV, so that’s my go-to translation.

New Birth Crowns Eddie Long as King - How do you know if you are feeling an anointing in the room and not just heartburn? There are all kinds of theological problems here. Does that funky custom suit make him more holy? It is so easy to spot prosperity “gospel” heretics. Why do people still fall for this? Why can’t the African Americans get out of the trap of prosperity teaching and embrace teachers like Voddie Baucham? I don’t know. But I’ll pray for them.

A gay friend of mine died recently. A couple of people asked me, if he and his partner are Christians, will he go to Heaven??? Because their thinking is they have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and Jesus forgives all sin, we all sin… One of the things that many Christians seem to forget is repentance. But at the same time, if I died suddenly, would I have time to repent of my sin, whatever it was that day? God’s grace covers a lot… I told a couple people that God speaks out against sexual sin more than any other sin in the Bible (hope that was right). And of course they remind me that God doesn’t see one sin as more than another, sin is sin. One person said we are not to judge. I just need your spiritual knowledge, thoughts and advice.
